Relational trauma: when the past affects the present

Relational trauma is one of my specialist areas. Difficult childhood experiences often remain with us and affect how we bond emotionally. Once healthy relationships can fall apart for a variety of reasons, including low self-esteem, distress, trauma or an inability to connect fully. Therapy will help you recognise how your current behaviours may be linked to your past experiences and also provide support as you develop a healthier mindset to carry you forward.

The menopause and mental health

The menopause has become headline news and is often a tipping point in the decision to seek help. Aside from marking a life change and the threshold to their ‘second half’, many women struggle with their emotions and anxiety, in tandem with the well-documented physical challenges. Teenage children and elderly parents can also form a ‘sandwich’ of responsibility for many women at a time when they themselves need additional support.

My qualifications and professional registration:

I trained for 5 years at The Minster Centre, a BACP-accredited training institute in London for my Diploma in Integrative Counselling and am currently working towards a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy.

I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical guidelines and standards. I am committed to my professional development and am in regular supervision.

In addition to my private practice, for the last 3 years I’ve also been working at a low-cost therapy service in Notting Hill, London.
