Therapy that fits around you
What is Integrative Psychotherapy?
As I have learnt from my own experience, when it comes to therapy, one size does not fit all. That’s the beauty of integrative therapy. It’s a practice that takes different elements from the various therapeutic approaches available, that I can adjust to suit your particular needs. It’s therapy that fits around you, not the other way around.
What can I expect?
Therapy is a process. The shape, direction and time it takes is different for everyone. I believe the best therapy should be centred around the healing power of a good therapeutic relationship. It should leave you with a greater understanding of yourself and the strength and clarity to move forwards and thrive.
Seeking therapy is a courageous step. It means you’re acknowledging that you will be facing up to issues that are potentially painful to think about, let alone share, especially if it’s for the first time. I’m here to provide the emotional support to help you get the most out of your therapy and through a difficult time, towards a happier future.
It’s my job to listen and give you a safe space within which to find your way through your challenges towards the life you want to lead, and the kind of relationship you want to have, be it with yourself, or others. To help guide you and to work together, to get to the bottom of the obstacles that might be standing in your way and to lift the lid on your untapped potential.
Your first session
Good therapy is always collaborative. The first time we meet is all about looking at your initial reasons for seeking therapy and to get to know each other ̶ to check we’re a ‘good fit’ and that you feel comfortable with my way of working and that I’m the right therapist for you.
If we decide to go ahead, subsequent sessions will be 50 minutes and at weekly intervals for continuity and progress.
